With Moab being just 20 miles southwest this secluded small town is sheltered from most tourists. This hidden gem offers a tranquil place to recover and rest after a full day of adventure. Castle Valley lies in the shadow of Castleton Tower and is surrounded by the La Sal Mountains, red rock towers, and the Colorado River.

When looking for a place to stay look no further than the Castle Valley Inn. Offering home-away-from-home hospitality this inn offers delicious breakfasts, walking paths, a spacious hot tub, and hammocks to relax in after your full days of adventuring. Other options for lodging in Castle Valley include locals offering their houses for rent. This usually only happens during peak tourist seasons. There are two other lodge and dining options outside of town and alongside the Colorado River. Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa is slightly farther from town and Red Cliffs Lodge is slightly closer. Both places offer great venues for weddings or any activities and events surrounding the event.

Popular Activities Near Castle Valley

There is no shortage of activities extremely close to Castle Valley. Canyonlands National Park, Arches National Park, Dead Horse State Park, and the La Sal Mountains are less than an hour drive away. This means lots of options for hiking, biking, or even horseback riding. Some popular hikes include:

  • Fisher Tower Trailhead – This is a moderate trail that is 4.2 miles long. This hike is slightly icy but you don’t need spikes to hike it.
  • Professor Creek/Mary Jane Canyon – This hike is 8.4 miles long, weaving in and out of the river, don’t forget your water shoes! This hike is not too difficult and also dog friendly.
