Zion National Park

Utah

Zion National Park is located in southwestern Utah near the town of Springdale. A prominent feature of the 229-square-mile park is Zion Canyon, which is 15 miles long and up to 2,640 ft deep. The canyon walls are reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone eroded by the North Fork of the Virgin River. Zion National Park includes mountains, canyons, buttes, mesas, monoliths, rivers, slot canyons, and natural arches.

It’s no surprise that Zion National Park is the most visited park in Utah. Thanks to an abundance of water from the Virgin River, the lush vegetation is a gorgeous contrast against the glowing orange, red, and pink textured sandstone canyons. From the riverbed below to the towering canyon rims, everywhere you look there is a scenic backdrop to capture the elopement wedding of your dreams. Zion is one of the top elopement locations in Utah and our favorite elopement photography (link to our Elopement Photography section) locations are Canyon Junction Bridge at sunset (be sure to frame The Watchman in the background) and the Towers of the Virgin at sunrise. The pleasant, sunny days and jaw-dropping sandstone cliffs make Zion National Park a top destination for elopement wedding photography across the US.

Please ensure you leave no trace and adhere to the photography guidelines set by the National Park Service. If you are interested to conduct a destination elopement or an elopement wedding ceremony at Zion, you will need to get permits and you can find more information here.
