Twin lakes – Big Cottonwood Canyon

Twin Lakes is a beautiful hike located just 45 minutes outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. It is the perfect afternoon or day trip destination as the hike takes only an hour and a half.. The hike is an out and back, starting at the bottom of Brighton Ski Resort and ending with a view of Wasatch Mountain Range. Overall, this is one of the best destinations to check out on your elopement vacation.

Ferguson Trailhead – Little Cottonwood Canyon

Another Beautiful hike you may want to check out is Ferguson Trail Head out in little cottonwood canyon. Ferguson Trail is covered with thousands of trees, making for good shade and an even better view. Ferguson begins on a simple paved path with not too much happening, but as you continue you disappear into what feels like a forest. With water running down most of the trail, it truly feels like somewhere you have never seen before. Ferguson is perfect for experienced hikers, and people looking to try something new. This destination is perfect for a newly wed couple to get away and have some time to themselves. Don’t forget to bring the Dogs with you as Ferguson is a dog friendly trail! Utah Elope is the perfect place to plan your elopement. Say so long to your stresses!

Lake Mary  – Big Cottonwood Canyon

Lake Mary is one of our favorite hikes in the area. It begins at the Brighton Ski Area parking lot, is2.6 miles there and back and is moderately difficult. The majority of the trail is a gradual elevation gain with only a few steeper rocky sections and can be accessed by all ability levels. The trail leads up to Lake Mary which sits directly under Mt. Millicent. This lake is a great spot for a picnic as well as a perfect location to view all of the surrounding peaks in Big Cottonwood such as Mt. Tuscarora, Pioneer Peak, and Brighton ski resort. Lake Mary Trail is a must do hike while eloping in or around Salt Lake City. All elopements in the surrounding area should make the trip up Big and Little Cottonwood canyons!

Catherine Pass – Little Cottonwood Canyon

Eloping in Utah is meant to take the pressure off a traditional wedding and create a more intimate experience for bride and groom; This location does exactly that. Catherine pass is a beautiful location in northern Utah nestled between the big cottonwood canyons and the Albion Basin with a beautiful lake complemented by flourishing wildflowers. Though it is a longer hike going up to 3.9 miles the journey and destination makes it worth the distance. When you reach the end of the trail you are met with a beautiful view of the valley and amazing landscape. This destination is only one of the many locations that Utah’s plentiful mountain range provides and we hope that this trail is the perfect trail for your elopement excitement.
